    Incredibly long-winded tutorials

  6. Trevor Gruber says:

I mean really, 5 minutes? You could have said import a image in your layers, then go to draw and select trace. There you will have 3 or 4 options to control detail, and select ok and it will devide the solid colors into vectors….. done…..

  7. Trevor Gruber says:

I don’t like how you guys talk slow and repeat stuff.

+Incredible Tutorials Hallo!I find your tutorial very helpful. I’ve got a problem with Anime Studio 8. When i’m going to convert color images to vector, I’ve to click “Trace Image” and select “color” from the window, right?Well, in my version when I click “trace image” there aren’t select choices (for the color and bw) in the window.Help please çç

It messes up the nice colors I got in photoshop. Is there a way to use the original images and convert it into a vector yourself or custom add vector points?

Once again you have amazed me, your tutorials are incredible. I just wish Anime Studio did their own tutorials with a little more pride.

Well this is useless, I’m trying to trace a photo (no drawing) but it just fucks it up!

  14. techgenius2000 says:

oh…. well I think it should be able to work. it seems like a pretty basic option that can be found in many programs.

  15. TheGreenfield1000 says:

I have but I just wanted to know from someone that has spent a longer time with the program incase they knew a trick I didn’t… :D

  16. techgenius2000 says:

    why don’t you just try?

  17. TheGreenfield1000 says:

Is there anyway to do this sort of thing in Debut 6 version? Please reply. :)

Is this process also possible the other way round? SInce the behavior of raster images and vector graphics seems quite a bit different to me, I’d like special parts to be rastered (especially the legs/arms). I’m using version 8 pro on Mac OSX Lion.

so not useless look in anime studio pro 8 i did some exploring in the characters and i had to notice that some of the characters i say were constructed with only 1 layer it was i was impressed and then i knew that anime studio had its own method of constructing a bone structure and the image tracing tool was made only for that method.

I just did an animation where I created the images in Photo Shop, then imported them into Toon Boom. The images I created were as you suggested, with all the parts separate so they could act more like a traditional animated cartoon once assembled on different layers.

  46. LassesIndex says:

It can be done in Flash, but both that and Anime Studio give you either a billion vectors or a very bad tracing, especially if its a photo. You’re better off tracing stuff manually on a new layer.

  50. coolguyflex says:

You can’t do it automatically in flash, but it should be pretty easy to import a bitmap image, and then trace it to another layer manually.
