Converting Images to Vector Graphics

If you like to draw in other programs or on paper, Anime Studio 8′s new trace imaging system may allow you to animate these outside images in an easier fashion.

  7. [..YouTube..] I just did an animation where I created the images in Photo Shop, then imported them into Toon Boom. The images I created were as you suggested, with all the parts separate so they could act more like a traditional animated cartoon once assembled on different layers.

    [..YouTube..] It can be done in Flash, but both that and Anime Studio give you either a billion vectors or a very bad tracing, especially if its a photo. You’re better off tracing stuff manually on a new layer.

    [..YouTube..] You can’t do it automatically in flash, but it should be pretty easy to import a bitmap image, and then trace it to another layer manually.
