Steve and the Alien AS Series: 3-1: Creating Steve’s Bone Structure

Lesson 3 begins with the creation of a bone layer for Steve.  The bone layer is used to create a skeletal structure that we can match the character’s limbs and other body parts to.  From here we can rig Steve up like a puppet and animate him in a number of different ways.  Just note some tweaking to the limbs may be needed to create a glitch-free animation, which will be covered in the video.

The other benefit of using a bone layer is that it groups all of the character’s layers together, allowing us to easily move and re-size Steve without fear of missing a part.
