Introduction to Sounds in Adobe Flash
In this tutorial I go over the basic usage of sounds in Adobe Flash. This includes how to import and the difference between event, stop and stream sync types.

Only since about a week ago, whenever I import audio into my animations it is in slow motion. It does it with all tracks even those that I have used before this started happening. Someone help please.
in stream event if i press enter will the sound stop.
When I add certain sounds for some reason they are in slow motion.. why is this happening to certain sounds? they are fine untill i add them to adobe flash.

Thanks man! One question though— how do you make the sound continue on to the next scene? Let’s say i have a long sound file that’s mostly filled with voice acting and i want to be able to synch it w/o the sound file stopping after shifting from scene 1 to scene 2.

Everytime I export the video, the sound comes out different and I don’t know why.

you have to click on your audio layer, then goto properties (make sure window>properties is ticked) and set the sync to stream. This was doing my head in too but that works!

On My Flash Movie, my sound is alright it is added on but here’s the problem. When I press play and it’s on option “Stream” The sound isn’t what I had expected it to be, it’s a deeper pitch and all of my other sounds are deeper on my Flash. Help?

I have a question. I’m making a animation with music in the background for the whole movie. I also have a scene selection at the beginning of the movie. When I click a scene in the middle of the movie, there is no music. Can you tell me how I can select a scene and have the music start where ever it is in the movie? (PS sorry if this is confusing.)

hey, Im having a problem and its the only thing thats stoping me from putting my animation on youtube. Im using macromedia Flash MX, and when I export it and view the animation, the sound sêems to be off. It doessnt play in sync. Any idea how to fix? might be the codec?

help!!i downloaded an .fla from the net.i opened the library of that fla and saw many symbols… i noticed when i right-clicked symbol 1, i see a play button.then i clicked the play button when i right clicked..after i clicked the play button, the whole animation played..then i right clicked on 1 of the symbols then clicked edit.i changed the appearance of that symbol..then when i went back to symbol and right clicked symbol 1, i clicked play again.but it doesnt play the whole animation.thanks

I been trying to figure this out myself and I found out what you need to do. When you add the sound to the layer, go to its properties panel. Go to the Sync menu and drag down to “Stream”. Now you should be able to listen while dragging.
